Make plans to attend and participate in the 63rd International Annual Meeting of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society! The annual meeting will take place in exciting and iconic downtown Seattle from October 28 to November 1, 2019. Seattle is home to many well-known and important companies and features a strong human factors history and community. Amid this backdrop of beauty and innovation, we invite you to submit your work for presentation and publication at the annual meeting.

The annual meeting typically hosts between 1,500 and 2,000 attendees from education, government, and industry, with more than 600 technical presentations. The meeting continues to ensure the quality of the submissions through rigorous peer review, while ensuring the proceedings are archived and indexed for wide dissemination. Additionally, content is tailored to meet attendee interests by following tracks organized by the society’s diverse Technical Groups.

A variety of special sessions, from workshops to keynotes to panels, provide the opportunity to learn from thought leaders in the field of human factors and ergonomics and the industries we shape. The annual meeting is a friendly gathering, with a variety of networking opportunities, including the opening welcome reception and a special reception during the poster session, plus social events for students and early career professionals. And, whether you’re landing your first job out of school or looking for a change, the Career Center at the conference is the one-stop hub for your next career move.

The annual meeting continues to evolve to meet HFES member needs and interests. The 2019 installment of the conference will introduce the embedded Practitioner Day, with a strong emphasis on sharing hands-on and applied project findings. We will also welcome the newly introduced Cybersecurity Technical Group. We are very excited to see and learn from the presentations that will accompany these new areas.

For ergonomics professionals, the popular ErgoX Symposium immediately precedes the annual meeting and features an exciting and much expanded program.

The annual meeting truly has something for everyone. Come join your community for the premiere human factors conference. We look forward to seeing you and presentations on your latest work in Seattle!
